The greatest collection of works by Josef Čapek that was presented in Slovakia to date documents Čapek´s development from cubistic beginnings through his orientation on civilism and magic realism to expressive symbolic landscapes of the 1930s which were inspired by his stays in Slovakia
The exhibition takes place thanks to the gift in form of 66 graphic sheets from the archives of the Association of Mexican graphic artists represented by its director Alejandro Alvarado Carreño. The collection includes works of leading representatives of the Mexican graphic art such as Leopoldo Mendéz, José Guadalupe Posada, Alfredo Zalce or Carlos Alvarado Lang.
